Find your future with us.Boeing is currently looking for two Senior Machine Learning Perception Technologists to join their team in Seattle, WA (Huntsville, AL).About Us: As the advanced central research and development organization of The Boeing Company, Boeing Research & Technology (BR) incubates creative ideas for tomorrow's world, designs, creates, and provides innovative technologies that enable the development of future aerospace solutions while improving existing Boeing products and services.Employees work in a dynamic and distributed environment where the initiative and contribution of each researcher and technologist is critical to success. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a distributed (and international) team. Many projects are multi-year and end with the successful transition and integration of new capabilities to Boeing end product development/deployment. Project work can be funded by Independent Research and Development, Contracted Research and Development, or support to a Business Unit.A successful candidate for this position will be an experienced and motivated Machine Learning Researcher, Technologist, or Engineer with depth in Perception. They will have strong background and skills in mathematics, probabilities and statistics. Meanwhile, they will be an enterprise technical leader, mentor, and consultant. They will lead research and development (R) by rapidly prototyping advanced systems for aerospace products and services. They will have broad knowledge of Machine Learning techniques. They will be comfortable in taking initiative, learning from others and by experience, seeking feedback, and creating innovative ideas. They will get great satisfaction in applying and engineering solutions that will work in the real world.Position Responsibilities:Develops machine learning and perception ideas and systems for aerospace products and servicesUnderstands the mathematics of their methods and the systems that they work onAdapts and integrates various hardware and software capabilities into workable prototypesAbility to design, create, and evaluate new or modified data analysis algorithms to meet application requirements, such as statistical analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, text mining, visual analytics.Ability to perform research on sensor data, image processing and fusion, high fidelity world perception modeling of systems and man-machine interfaces.Knowledge of science and technologies involved in modeling and simulating the physical and/or data environment in such a way that a computer can correctly interpret it and computationally reason on it.Effectively communicates results to teammates and customers.Demonstrates creativity and interest in personal learning and development.Seeks feedback from multiple sources to improve and develop.Comfortable in taking initiative and learning by experience.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Experience developing, analyzing, and deploying Artificial Intelligence and related algorithms10+ years of software development experience5+ years of machine learning experience in developing and evaluating learned models5+ years of experience preparing data to create learned modelsExperience with scripting languages for prototypingExperience with high level programming languages such a C++, C, JavaExperience with Computer Vision and Deep Learning techniquesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):PhD degree preferred in Computer Science or similarStrong knowledge of mathematics, probability theory and statisticsKnowledge of data structure, numerical optimization and algorithm complexityExperience with Machine Learning development and deployment pipeline, i.e. from data to modelExperience in machine learningExperience in multi-modal sensor data fusion and visualization technologies are necessary for the positionExperience with machine learning libraries, such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.Experience with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV, PCL, or ROSExperience with software frameworks such as the Robot Operating System (ROS)Experience with sensors (cameras, LiDAR, GPS-IMU), embedded systems, and system integration related physical systemsExperience with Linux OSExperience with Agile methodology and repositories, such as JIRA and GitExperience in Augmented Reality and image recognition technologiesPublication to his/her credit in areas of machine learning and AI.Typical Education & Experience: Typically 14 or more years related work experience or relevant military experience.
