About Us:
While we cannot reveal much, we are a new startup building a first of its kind NLP product that's goal is to get users to better evidence-based answers, faster and easier than ever before. We recently completed a successful Pre-Seed fundraise from high profile VC funds and angels, beating the goal we originally set out to raise, which means we are ready to hire! We are striving to build a flexible and collaborative working environment that empowers our employees to be innovative and build a product that changes how the world consumes information.

About the Role:
You will be our first non-founder hire, reporting directly to the Co-Founders and working alongside our Head of Machine Learning. We are seeking an amazing Machine Learning/NLP Engineer who can wear a variety of hats with the overarching goal of driving the core development and deployment of our NLP/ML models that power our pipeline. This role will have the ability to shape the vision of our company by taking our current prototype pipeline and building a product that meets both our internal goals and the needs of our customers. While we will provide guidance and give requirements, this role will also have tons of room to ideate solutions and help drive the innovation that will make Consensus succeed. Lastly, we are trying to build a laid-back, effective and honest working culture, as our 4th employee, we want you to help us achieve this goal.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Designing, implementing and delivering solutions for a variety of NLP tasks including but not limited to: classification, clustering, text summarization
  • Collaborate with our contracted data annotators to train and ship state of the art models
  • Collaborate with founders on detailed feature tuning to deliver on company/customer goals
  • Scale all parts of the pipeline to be able to process millions of documents
  • Making sure the company adopts correct and current machine learning engineering practices
Core Requirements:
  • Great communication skills and ability to explain complex subjects to non-technical resources
  • Experience in deploying machine learning models in production environment
  • Experience across the data project life-cycle: ideation, labeling, data pre-processing, modeling, evaluation
  • Mastery of Python with experience using ML/NLP libraries
  • Mastery of machine learning fundamentals (ideally Masters degree+ or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience in classic NLP tools and techniques
  • Ability to understand state-of-the-art research in ML/NLP and familiarity with modern NLP and Transformer based models (BERT, T5, GPT, etc.)
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with scientific literature (reading, researching, writing)
  • Machine Learning Optimization experience
  • Machine Learning Dev Ops experience
  • Experience deploying models in major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
  • ElasticSearch or other search experience
  • Other Full-Stack skills
