The computation group brings together both machine learning and physics-based approaches to drive the discovery of new small molecules. The OpportunityOur ML Discovery group is seeking a few strong additions to our team ranging from new PhDs and Staff Scientists. Across the entire small molecule drug discovery process, you will use your knowledge of the field of machine learning for small molecules to apply the best methods available, develop new methods when needed, and deeply understand the limits and opportunities of each application. In addition to your machine learning colleagues, you will collaboratively work with chemists, biologists, and others across the drug discovery process, building your own knowledge of the field. Your work will directly impact the exploration of chemical space as we hunt for new medicines. Your RoleFor a variety of data types (including DNA encoded small molecule library data), you will identify the best ML methods and approaches while building and evaluating models. Using those models, you'll build machine learning driven systems for ongoing drug discovery programs to identify hits and optimize compounds. By investigating the properties of the data and model performance, we will rely on you to modify and improve data processing and modelling approaches for our particular drug discovery problems. Your BackgroundPh.D. required in CS, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related fieldsExcellent written communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills Experience in machine learning applications for small molecules or material science, as evidenced by strong publication record in the area or significant industry experienceStrong production level programming skills in Python, including at least one of the major deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch5+ years hands-on experience in working with several of: PyTorch, tensorflow, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, pandas, or other machine learning or data analysis libraries in Python*** please include cover letter ***>We believe in building balanced teams and a place where our people can be their best self every day.
